ELEGANT THEMES DEEPFOCUS WORDPRESS THEME PROFESSIONAL
The themes we selected for this post are well designed and do an excellent job of presenting the content in a professional manner. We’ve rounded up 10 themes that are ideal for designers and photographers who don’t have web design skills to build their own portfolio site. So for this post, the focus is on portfolios and galleries. For example, a few weeks ago we posted a collection of business WordPress themes that were aimed at giving business owners an easy way to get a great looking site online. Just focus a bit more on making those designs great placeholders for content, blog post or comment-wise.Themes can extend WordPress into much more than just a blogging platform, and it’s common for theme developers to create themes with a focus on specific niches. Still, at least their comments are also outlined by a box and have a bonus little triangle pointing towards the avatar. Same principle can be seen in InstantShift’s theme ( ), just without the nesting and that is, of course, the most important part. The avatars have been made smaller and moved to the right and the rectangle comments are nicely linked by that line. Second-level nesting comments don’t just look exactly the same with a little indent. THIS is what I’m looking for: every comment is outlined by a rectangle (Remember the posts divided by rounded rectangles in PersonalPress? Same principle here.) Avatars have a nice space for name and date underneath. Let’s take a look at the amazing comment threading in eQuator ( ).
The category, tags, author info is also at the bottom, not stuck between the title and the excerpt.Ĭomment threading: same in every single theme and not improving. Other things to note about PersonalPress’ blog posts that make it so remarkable: the title is *above* the thumbnail, allowing for a longer title and just making these more organized. How can you go further with that in future themes? Focus on conserving space but still offering the same division of posts: eliminate the little thumbtack-string, remove the unnecessary borders and make the thumbnail + excerpt length shorter. What did I like about PersonalPress that differs from the other themes? The posts were each divided into their own little “frames”, their own little rounded rectangles.
But the way blog posts and comments are presented stay the same, theme after theme, dull with only very slight variations. Nick, there’s no doubt about it: your design, fading effects, and shortcodes are beautiful, amazing things. We are always looking for input and your thoughts are much appreciated!
